Example 1



To a stirring solution of the SM (100 mg, 0.15 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added NaN3 (50 mg, 0.7 mmol) and the reaction mixture was stirred at RT for 3 h. The mixture was quenched with H2O (20 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (2 x 30 mL). The combined organics were washed with H2O (50 mL), brine (50 mL), dried (Na2SO4), and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (30% EtOAc/hexane) to provide the product as a brown oil. [60 mg, 59%]
