Chlorination

Common Conditions:

NCS

Sufficiently activated aromatic rings (ex. anilines and phenols) are readily chlorinated with N-chlorosuccinimide (NCS). Chlorination of a less reactive ring system may need to be catalyzed (ex. acid catalyzed chlorination).[1][2]
